Planning a wedding and keeping everyone happy...

When planning a wedding there are so many things to consider. What venue do you pick, what style of dress should you wear, and what décor looks best with your colors!? You shouldn't add to the stress by worrying about how to keep everyone in your family happy.

Don't get us wrong having opinions and experiences from others is a great thing to have, BUT you have to remember this is YOUR wedding day not theirs. At the end of the day you and your soon to be spouse are the ones who are going to be constantly reminiscing on your special day years from now. You don't want to look back and think, " I wish we would have," or worse "I wish we wouldn't have."

Now we have had many clients whos parents or grandparents are helping pay for the wedding, which can add an additional challenge with going against their opinions. But again you have to remember this is your day, and they love you! So if they want you to have a perfect day, you are going to have to speak your mind (politely) and do what is going to make you happy.

We are also very supportive of our clients going against tradition. Things like throwing the bouquet, the groom getting the garter out from under a dress, and a dad walking his daughter down the aisle, are wonderful and special traditions that have been around for years. However times have changed! What fits you and your future spouse might not align with those traditions, and THAT IS OKAY! Something we always tell our clients is that this is your big day and whatever you want to do, or don't want to do, is absolutely perfect. We want this day to be 100% you two and nobody else!

So moral of the story?? If you are planning a wedding, do what you two want and don't worry about other people! Embrace your vision and create this day to be just the way you have always dreamed it to be!
